As a proud Latina with big ambitions, I wanted to create something that Houston had never seen before. When I discovered the incredible benefits of matcha (hello, energy without the crash), I fell in love. But there was just one problem: nobody in Houston was doing matcha right. I wanted the real, vibrant green matcha that’s rich, smooth, and ceremonial-grade—and I wanted it on the go.
So, I decided to take a risk, break the mold, and create Houston’s first-ever matcha-dedicated café. With Matcha Mia, I didn’t just want to offer matcha—I wanted to make it an experience. From our bold pink walls to our family-owned values, Matcha Mia is all about bringing something fresh, fun, and vibrant to the table.
As a 27-year-old entrepreneur from Mexico City, I’ve always had a vision for spotting what’s missing in the market and creating something unique. Matcha Mia is my way of blending my hospitality background (shoutout to the Hilton College at the University of Houston) with my passion for wellness and connection. And now, with our own line of matcha powder, we’re making it even easier for you to enjoy premium matcha anytime, anywhere.
